"May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back May the sunshine warm your face, the rain fall soft upon your fields.."

Obituary of Amelia "Amy" Tomaselli

Amelia "Amy" Tomaselli, of Lockport, entered into rest on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at her home under the care of her loving family and Niagara Hospice. Amelia was born on July 1, 1929, to Quirino and Clorinda DiVincenzo in Casalbordino, Italy.
Amy and her family immigrated to the United States in 1936 when she was seven. She was a 1949 graduate of Lockport High School. While in high school, she worked at the Lockport Poultry Market, where she met and married the owner's son. Amy married the late Thomas Tomaselli Jr. on November 24, 1949 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church.

Amy was employed by Harrison Radiator Division of GMC in Lockport for 30 years. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph's and All Saints Roman Catholic Churches. She enjoyed baking and delivering cookies, always generously. She learned to play the piano in retirement and was fond of traveling. She was energetic: exercising at the gym, bowling, playing cards, always shopping and an avid gardener. She never wanted to miss a thing. She treasured time spent with family and the many friendships she developed throughout her life. Most of all she loved to prepare weekly Sunday dinner for her entire family.

She was the beloved mother of the late Carol Santangelo (Steven), Linda Passuite (Thomas), Mary Beth Vosler (Richard), and Lisa Gretz (Chad). She took pride in her grandchildren and they brought great joy to her life. She was the cherished grandmother of Mark Santangelo (Sonya), Tricia Dreher (Joseph), Jennifer LaFrance (Michael), Carly Knight (Kimble), Jamison Passuite, Mallory Passuite, Matthew Vosler (Kimberly) and Ryan Vosler (Jaelyn). She was also loved by her great-grandchildren, Leah Middaugh, Ethan Santangelo, Jaison Ginther, Lennon Knight, Otis Knight and Amelia Vosler. She was the great-great-grandmother of Peyton Middaugh. She was the dear sister of the late Nicholas DiVincenzo and the late Rita Della Penna, and sister-in-law to the late Laura Jean Cleri Note. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 4-7 PM at the TAYLOR & REYNOLDS FUNERAL HOME, (corner of Niagara and Transit Streets), Lockport, NY, where prayers will be held Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at All Saints Roman Catholic Parish, 76 Church Street, Lockport, at 11:00 AM. Interment in Cold Springs Cemetery.

Those who wish to remember Amy in a special way may donate in her memory to Niagara Hospice.
