Obituary of Anthony D. Ventura

Anthony D. "Tony" Ventura entered into rest August 18, 2023 at the Niagara Hospice house surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born February 9, 1943, he was the son of Anthony C. and Rose (Corriere) Ventura.

Tough Tony was a former professional heavyweight boxer who had traveled throughout the world and had a multitude of loyal and dedicated friends who followed him throughout his career.

Tony retired from the laborers union local 91 and was a graduate of DeSales High school where he was All Catholic in football and baseball.  He is survived by his high school sweetheart Lorraine (Muscarella) Ventura whom he married in 1963.

Beloved father of Anthony A. (Christine), Christopher D. and Thomas D. (Dawn) Ventura. Cherished grandfather of Mikaela, Alexa, and Amara, Christy (Keith), Andrew, Kathlyn and Mackenzie. Great grandfather of Lucas, Lincoln, Warren, Everleigh, Micah and the late Raelynn. Brother in law of Alex Muscarella. Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 4-7 on Wednesday at the Taylor & Reynolds Funeral Home, 70 Niagara Street. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:30 am at All Saints Parish, 76 Church street, Lockport. (Please assemble at church). Entombment in Glenwood Mausoleum. Memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
