Obituary of Barbara E. Horstmann
Barbara E. Horstmann entered into heaven February 21, 2025 at the Niagara Hospice House. Born March 4th 1954, in Syracuse NY, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Charlotte (Towle) Horstmann.
Barbara was always optimistic, free spirited and a peacekeeper. She was a super loving mother and adored her grandsons. She graduated from Buffalo State College and Universities in Mexico for Spanish, where she had degrees in nutrition, psychology , special education and speech pathology. Barbara worked for the Buffalo school system as a Speech pathologist where she was the only bilingual speech pathologist at that time. She was a loving mom to her dogs.
She is the beloved mother of Sara (Dale) Rosado-Page. Cherished grandmother of Josue "JR" and Rafael. Loving sister of Molly (Chris) Shanto and Mandy (Mark) Rice. Also survived by nieces and nephews and several cousins.
A Celebration of Barbara's Life will be held March 8th 2025 at 11:00 am at the Knox Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 2595 Elmwood Ave., Kenmore NY 14217. In lieu of flowers please make donations to World Central Kitchen.
I feel so blessed to have had Barb in my life for several years! She was a friend that you could share your feelings with and know that she would listen. I always think of her when I go to Hardee’s or her favorite Mexican Restaurant. .
I know that she is now in the presence of our Heavenly Father , Jesus Christ

I’m so blessed to have known your mom. She was such a sweet heart. Life without your mom will be different but you’re strong and full of so much love for your family that you will get through this. May you find peace in all the memories you shared with your mom. Rest now Barb you will be missed.
