Obituary of Carmen “Carmina” Pizarro Torres
Carmen “Carmina” Pizarro Torres, 82, of Humacao, Puerto Rico, passed away on March 13, 2026, in Lockport, New York.
Born on August 12, 1943, in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Miguel Torres and Flora Pizarro. Carmina was known for her playful and funny personality that brought joy and laughter to those around her. She had a deep love for cooking, singing, and dancing, and her warmth and spirit left a lasting impression on family and friends.
Carmina spent many of her working years in Puerto Rico cooking in local schools, where she took pride in preparing meals and caring for the children she served. Following the devastation of Hurricane Maria, she spent the last eight years of her life in Lockport, New York, with the love of her life and lifelong partner, Angel Luis “Compaito,” and his daughter Rosita, where she was lovingly cared for by family and new friends.
She was the mother of the late Jose “Freddy” Jordan and the loving grandmother of Seila Jordan and Angelica Jordan. She was also a devoted stepmother to Maria “Rosita” Roman Maldonado; Luis Angel Maldonado (Michelle); Carmen Morales Maldonado; Angela Allende Maldonado (Omar); Marilu Maldonado; and Maria de Carmen Figueroa Maldonado. She was a cherished step-grandmother to Juan Jr. (Mary Beth), Angel, Samantha, and Carlos Roman, and Luisa Morales, along with many other grandchildren and great grandchildren and extended family members.
Carmina shared a special lifelong bond with her best friend, who was like a sister, Francisca Beltran Alvarez “Panchita,” and her step-nephew, Israel Quiñones Beltran.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Elsi and Hector. She is survived by her brothers Dino and Papo, and her sister Gloria, along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Friends may call from 11-1 at the Taylor & Reynolds Funeral Home, 70 Niagara Street, Lockport NY, on Thursday March 19, 2026, where the Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm. Interment in Cold Springs Cemetery.
