Obituary of Charles Witte

Charles Richard 'Chuck' Witte, 91, of Gasport, NY, passed away on November 21, 2017 in Eastern Niagara Hospital after battling Alzheimer's and cardiac disease. Chuck was born on January 7, 1926 in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Richard and Nina Witte.
Chuck grew up in Western New York. He attended night school at SUNY at Buffalo and received a degree in Engineering. Chuck went on to obtain his NYS professional engineering license and for several years, he was the General Manager of Acres American, an engineering firm in Buffalo.

Chuck served as a Corporal in the USAAF during WWII. He serviced B-25 planes that were used to train bomber pilots. He was a member of the Oldsmobile Club of America for over 30 years and is also active in the WNY Olds Club. Chuck also belonged to the Balsa Duster Niagara County Radio Controlled Model Flying Club. He is a member of Christ Episcopal Church, where he was a warden and served on several committees.

Chuck is survived by his beloved wife, June; children, Ray (Pam) Witte of Lancaster, Marcia (Kevin) Robison of Wrights Corners, Judy Shaddock of Lockport; grandchildren, Eric, Mark, Allison and Joseph; six great-grandchildren; nephew, Ken (Michele) Berta and niece, Sharon (Todd) Searcy.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Christ Episcopal Church, 7145 Fieldcrest Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 on Saturday, December 2nd at 11 AM.
