Friends may call from 3-7 on Tuesday, October 31, at the Taylor & Reynolds Funeral Home, 70 Niagara Street, and on Wednesday, November 1, from 10-11 at the First English Lutheran Church 185 Locust Street, Lockport (Parking in the rear), where the Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am. Burial will be November 3, 2023 at the Western New York National Cemetery at 1:00 pm with Military Honors.

Obituary of Donald James Thompson

It is with great sadness that the family of Donald James Thompson of Lockport, announces he entered into rest on Monday October 23, 2023 at the age of 83.

Donald graduated from Lockport Senior High School and soon thereafter enlisted into the U.S. Airforce where he served 3 tours in Vietnam and continued his service with B. Leo Dolan Post 410 in Lockport, where he served as Commander of the Post. Donald also served as the Director of the Niagara County Veteran Services in Lockport for many years.

Donald was the beloved husband of Patricia Ann (nee Dear) Thompson for 46 years. Beloved brother of Bonnie Burnett, Cynthia (James) Rassulo, Kathleen Wik and Terri (late David) Frye. Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.

    So sorry to hear of Don`s death. We were friends many decades ago in Lockport and I saw him later when I visited Lockport. He will be at peace now. God bless. Ted Gay
