Obituary of George C. Darrell

George Darrell, 63, passed away April 1, 2021, at Baptist East Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama.  George Darrell was born in 1957 in Newfane, NY to Chester Sr. and Celia Darrell.

He had a great sense of humor and an easy-going personality.  And, he loved his Z28.  George graduated from Newfane High School at the age of 16.  At the age of 17, George was employed at Harrison Radiator, which he later retired from.

George met and fell in love with Dolly (Poole) Darrell and they were married on February 23, 1979.  George and Dolly later welcomed 2 daughters, Sheena and Juanita Darrell.  Later in life, they relocated their family to Montgomery, Alabama.  There they welcomed 5 grandboys, Nehemiah, Jayceon, Jeremiah, Messiah, and Jameson.

George was a very family-oriented man.  He loved his family with all he had.  He is survived by his wife Dolly Darrell, his daughters Sheena Darrell and Juanita Darrell.  His grandboys Nehemiah Darrell, Jayceon Darrell, Jeremiah Darrell, Messiah Darrell, and Jameson Darrell.  His brothers Melvin (Delphine) Darrel, Wendell Darrell, and Eugene Darrell.  His sisters Cecelia Darrell and Rhena Nixon.

He was predeceased by his father Chester Darrell Sr., his mother Celia Darrell, Nelson Darrell, David Darrell, Chester Darrell, Jr., Deloris Steurks, and Benjamin Darrell.

Friends may call from 9-11 AM on Friday at the Taylor & Reynolds Funeral Home, 70 Niagara Street, where the Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday at Christ Community Church at 140 Genessee Street in Lockport, NY.

    We was so saddened to hear of George’s passing. What a great guy. Our heartfelt condolences go out to The Darrel Family. May George Rest in Peace and may God give strength to The Darrell Family at this time.

    My sincere condolences to the Darrell family.. George (Chicken) Darrell was an awesome person..I truly was fortunate to call him a friend and a teammate on the baseball court! I will forever remember his smile and our friendship! RIP “Chicken”…
