Obituary of Hilton Maxwell, Sr.

Hilton Maxwell, Sr., 79, of Lockport, NY, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Buffalo General Hospital. Born on February 9, 1939, in Evergreen, AL. He was the son of the late Willie Maxwell and Doshia Finklea.

Hilton, Sr. relocated to Lockport, NY in 1975, where he worked for General Motors and retired after many years of service. He married Earnestine Maxwell and as a combined family had 13 children.

Survived by his wife, Earnestine Maxwell; his children, Kay Kay Maxwell, Mitchell Maxwell, Colette Maxwell, Yolanda Maxwell, Geneva Johnson, Phyllis Oliver (Ralph Williams), Della Hodge, Christine Josey, Ty McDowell, Angela (Richard) Blackburn, Alonzo Maxwell, Hilton Jr. (Ryan), and Shaun Maxwell. He leaves behinds sixteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and family and friends that love him dearly. Predeceased by his siblings, Willie Maxwell, Jr., Charles Maxwell, Hosea Maxwell, John Wesley, Willie Edward, Voncile Maxwell, Cleo Salters and Hattie Maxwell. Hilton will be greatly missed by all!

Visitation will be on Thursday from 11 AM - 12 PM at the Christ Community Baptist Church, 140 Genesse Street, where the Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery.   Arrangements by Taylor and Reynolds Funeral Home, 70 Niagara Street, Lockport NY.  Condolences may be offered below, and flowers may be purchased through The Flower Barn.

    So sorry to hear of Mr. Maxwell’s passing. He always so kind and smiling when i waited on him at my store. He will be missed. I’m glad i got to know him these past years and his young helper grandson that shopped with him. RIP Mr. Maxwell. Thoughts and prayers are with his family.

    Rip grandaddy u will be truly be miss it’s so sad we couldn’t be there for the day your sent off to heaven but u will always be remembered love always your granddaughter Takessa Tasia Tydarius Tyana and Tavion ❤️
