Obituary of Joseph Paul Will, Sr.

Joseph Paul Will, Sr., of Amherst, NY passed away on March 24th at the age of 87.

Joe enjoyed life. A mechanic by trade, and after he retired, he worked for Walt Disney World. He spent his time traveling up and down the east coast seeing the sights, his family and his friends. He loved being outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, camping or even trying to find Big Foot! But in the end, he always was a family man and loved being around them. He was loved by all and wanted to make sure everyone felt welcome. He had a huge presence wherever he went, and his laugh was infectious!

He will be missed by everyone he has ever met, and his memory will live on.

Joe is preceded in death by his wife Arlene (Sherlock) Will, his sons Robert and Mitchell Will, as well as his daughter Sharon Lawrence. Surviving are his children: Christine (Tom) Jenke, Scott (Jeffrey) Will, Tammy (Glen) Mayfield, Kimberly (Steve) Morgan, Joseph (Mike) Will Jr, Gerald (Nicole) Will, and Kevin (Dawn) Will. His stepchildren George Meiler and Chris (Beth) Meiler, as well as his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joey did enjoy life – that’s a wonderful description of him. I can remember when he took my mother, Bea, and all of us kids out for Sunday drives. He would be driving and singing along to the radio, with his glossy black hair blowing in the wind. We all knew that life was good then a tire blew and we had to swerve off the road. He was strong enough to keep us safe and we all appreciated that, too. I’ll miss you Joey. RIP. Thanks for that last phone call.
