Laura Mae (Greenbush) Sick, age 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 17 th at Father Baker Manor in Orchard Park, NY. Laura had been battling a long illness. Laura was born March 21, 1943 in Springfield, Massachusetts, to Donald and Rachel Greenbush.

She graduated from Lockport Senior High School in 1961 and attended the Highland Hospital School of Nursing in Rochester, NY. Laura studied nursing and earned her diploma as a Registered Nurse in 1965. Laura worked as a nurse for over 30 years. During her career as a Registered Nurse, Laura was an instructor for the Licensed Practical Nursing Program at Steuben-Allegheny Board of Cooperative Educational Services in Hornell, NY. Laura held numerous positions throughout her career such as Case Manager, Utilization Review Manager, Quality Review Manager, Pre-Admission Planner, Research Nurse, Director of Enteral/Parenteral Services, and Head Nurse. Laura primarily worked in the Buffalo, NY, area where she resided most of her life.

After her time as a nurse, she worked for Independent Health for over 10 years in Management Specialist positions until she retired.  Laura served as an usher at Shea's Performing Arts Center in Buffalo for many years. She was also a collector of teapots and enjoyed reading books. Over the years, Laura enjoyed traveling.  She would often visit her father in Florida and vacation with friends in the Siesta Keys. Laura had also traveled to Paris, London, Scotland, Ireland and Australia.  Laura is survived by her son, Steven (Ronda) Sick of Cohocton; two grandchildren, Brianna and Bradley Sick of Cohocton; her sister, Barbara (Ron) Swan of South Carolina; her brother, Douglas (Rita) Greenbush of Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to call from 10-11:30 AM on Monday, June 28th at Taylor and Reynolds Funeral Home, 70 Niagara Street, Lockport, NY. A small service will be held immediately after for Laura's family.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to The MSA Coalition (Multiple System Atrophy) in Laura's memory.
