Lauretta (Halbig) Long entered into rest August 5, 2022. Born July 3, 1931, in Lockport NY, the daughter of Howard P. And A. Marie Halbig.

Lauretta graduated from Lockport High School Class of 1949. Following graduation she worked for Pies Furniture and Metropolitan Life. From 1959 thru 1975 she was a stay at home mom. The summer of 1975 she helped the Sesqui - Centenial committee working in the store.

She owned and operated Long's Pub in Gasport from 1983 to 2000 with her Husband Charles Long until his passing in 1996. In March of 2000 she retired from Niagara Fiberboard (formerly Upson Co.).

Lauretta was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, enjoyed collecting angels, playing cards with friends, gardening, cross word puzzles, watching movies, decorating for the holidays and for many years her 4th of July party for family and friends.
She especially enjoyed her class lunches and monthly "Lunch Bunch" with friends.
Lauretta was predeceased by her beloved husband Charles "Chuck" Long. Beloved mother of Charles H. (Claudette) Long and Elizabeth (late Daune) Carpenter. Cherished grandmother of Charles E. Long and Jeremy S. Long. Great grandmother of Cameron C. Long. dear sister of Howard "Bub" (Marylyn) Halbig and the late Claire (Larry) Bulmer. Special cousin Philip (Dorothy) VanCleve. Dear aunt of Candee, Nicole, Barb, Cheryl, Patty, Kathleen and many dear friends.

Friends may call from 3-7 on Thursday August 11, 2022 at the Taylor & Reynolds Funeral Home, 70 Niagara street, where prayers will be held on Friday at 9:30 am. A mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:00 am. Interment in Cold Springs cemetery.
