Obituary of Malcolm R. MacEachon

Malcolm R. MacEachon, 83, passed away at home on Saturday, February 18th, 2023. He was born in Lockport on July 28, 1939, to Joseph Edward and Annabelle (Silk) MacEachon. He grew up in the city and graduated from Lockport High School in 1957.

He attended Cornell University following high school, and then served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965. Returning to Lockport after his service, he lived there for the remainder of his life. He was a long time employee of International Multifoods Corporation/J. M. Smucker Company, retiring in 2004.

He enjoyed reading and family genealogy, and was devoted to his cats, including the neighborhood cats he helped feed and care for.

He is survived by his sister, Anna Jean (Eugene) Tucker of Fayetteville, NY and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Ruth Mary (John) Chase and Carolyn (Peter) Hermes, and his half-brothers Joseph Edward, Jr. (Frances) MacEachon, Thomas Dugald (Ida) MacEachon, William Henry MacEachon, and Donald Andrew MacEachon.

He will be buried in Glenwood Cemetery in Lockport, near his parents and other family members. The ceremony will be private.

    I always enjoyed seeing Malcolm at the library. May he have eternal rest.
