Obituary of Ronald M. Luke

Ronald M. Luke went home to his loving Father on March 1, 2026, with family by his side.

Born on December 8, 1937, in Niagara Falls, New York, Ron was the son of the late William (Lukaszonas) Luke and Stella Mietlowski. He grew up in Niagara Falls alongside his only sibling, his beloved sister, the late Bernice Sturak. Later in life, he made his home in Lockport, where he lived for over 25 years and remained closely connected to his family.

Ron dedicated many years of his career to the Internal Revenue Service, where he worked faithfully until his retirement. He took pride in his work and carried that same sense of responsibility and steadiness into every area of his life.

Though he never married and had no children of his own, his nieces, nephew, and later his great-nieces and great-nephews were deeply involved in his life and meant everything to him. They were not simply extended family —they were his family. He took great pride in being present for them, and they, in turn, were a steady and loving presence in his life.
Ron was a quiet man by nature, steady and observant, but he could always surprise you with a perfectly timed zinger that would leave the table laughing. One of his greatest joys was taking everyone out to dinner regularly. Those meals became cherished traditions filled with stories, humor, and connection. It was his way of showing love and making sure everyone was together and well cared for.

Ronald M. Luke was a generous man. Over the years, he gave quietly to various charities, never seeking recognition. He had a special soft spot for animals, especially his beloved cats, who brought him comfort and companionship throughout his life.

In addition to his parents and his sister, Bernice Sturak, he was predeceased by his loving niece, Wendy (Lucas) Herman. He is survived by his devoted nieces and nephew: Cheryl (Tim) Dorr, Bill (Vicki) Sturak, and Patti Jo Sturak; and his great-niece and great-nephews: Austin and Grace Herman; Tim, Erik, and Tyler Dorr; Brandon and Bill Sturak, all of whom will miss him dearly and cherish the many memories they shared.

We take comfort in knowing he is reunited with his beloved parents, his sister Bernice, and his loving niece Wendy once again.

A private burial will be held at a later date at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ten Lives Club, 3741 Lake Shore Road, Blasdell, NY 14219, or by purchasing items from the shelter’s wish list available on their website.
