Obituary of Haywood M. Williams

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Haywood M. Williams, who left us on October 3, 2026, at the age of 76.

Haywood was born on March 14, 1950, to the late Haywood Williams and Geraldine Crawford. As the oldest of ten children, Haywood had a special place in his family. He had a heart big enough to hold love for all of his brothers and sisters, and family was always important to him.

Haywood was a hard worker who spent many years working at various factories throughout Niagara County. His final job before retirement was with Meals on Wheels, where he found something more than just a job. He truly enjoyed making his deliveries and, most of all, visiting the people along his route. He had a way of making people feel seen and cared for, and his kindness left an impression wherever he went.

If you knew Haywood, you knew his smile. He had a smile that could brighten a room, and he never met a stranger. Haywood had a loving heart and a gentle spirit, and he welcomed people into his life with warmth and kindness.

The last few years of Haywood's life brought many challenges, but he never allowed those challenges to take away the person he was. He never felt sorry for himself. Instead, he continued to smile, continued to love, and continued to show kindness to the people around him. That strength and positivity were a beautiful part of who he was.

Haywood was predeceased by his parents, Haywood Williams and Geraldine Crawford, and his brother, Steven, and sister Ruby.

He leaves behind his siblings, Anthony Williams, Deborah Hill, Cyril Price, Geraldine Price, Barbara (Kenneth) Thompson, and Rebekah Dash; his nieces and nephews, who were so much more than nieces and nephews—they were his children. He loved them, cared for them, guided them, and took great pride in watching them grow. The bond he shared with them was one of the most special parts of his life. He also leaves behind many great-nieces and great-nephews, and his special friend, Pam Steed.

Haywood's love for his family reached far beyond words. He had a way of making those he loved feel like they belonged, and many of his nieces and nephews will forever carry the love, memories, and lessons he gave them. To them, he wasn't simply an uncle—he was Dad, a father figure, and someone they could always love and count on.

Haywood may no longer be here to share his smile, but the love he gave and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His laughter, kindness, and loving spirit will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of calling him family.

Please join Haywood's family in celebrating his life.
